Photographs from within the Carr
Gallery
The “Shutter Fever” exhibit consisted of several parts:
1. The display of 70 framed photographs. (View the Photographs)
2. Twenty framed quotes by famous artists, photographers, etc.
These were
hung mixed among the photographs. (View
the Quotes)
3. A display of seven actual objects that appear in the still lifes
plus the rusty
cans. These were placed in a glass display case.
4. A hand out for visitors and children: “Which pictures are
these
pieces
from?”. This hand out shows nine sections cut
out from some of
the
photographs and can be used as a game. (View the Hand Out)
5. A hand out for visitors and children: “Circle the object that
appears
the
most times in the photographs?”. Black and
white pictures of the objects
in the display case are shown on the hand out. This
can be used as a game.
(View the Hand Out)
6. A computer running the “Photo Titles” program.
Copies of the
gallery
photographs are shown on the screen and visitors are
invited to make
up
their own titles for them. After a visitor enters a
title they can view all
of
the titles entered by others. This program was
written by Gordan Hardcastle.
