String Quilt

In January, 2007, I made a resolution to make one string block a day for the entire year.
On August 12, 2007, I completed that resolution.
The above picture shows the 30 completed quilts.
Here are some numbers for you to consider:
365 blocks
30 quilts + 5 blocks to grow on
57 spools of thread
1,460 squares
Average of 5 pieces of fabric per square
7,300 pieces of fabric for quilt center panel
A total of 7,480 pieces of fabric including the borders.
In July, 2008, these quilts found a home at Camp Hoodia,
a camp for Juvenile Diabetes here in Idaho.

Marian in North Dakota sent me this picture of their string quilt.
She tells me seven people worked on this quilt for their Bible Camp Auction.
This quilt raised almost $400.
